The weekend of the 3rd and 4th of June 2023, marked the Opening of the 4th Centenary of the “Light of Pentecost”. The event reminded us of the day when St. Louise de Marillac received from the Holy Spirit the revelation that changed her whole life. During these days, the relics of St. Louise’s writings were transferred from the Mother House of the Congregation of the Mission to the Mother House of the Daughters of Charity in Paris.

Sister Theresa Tighe D.C. Theresa went on to say that Eugene's previous ministries have shaped him into a compassionate listener, a thoughtful guide, and a faithful companion on our journey of discernment. As we prepare for our upcoming assemblies under the theme 'Artisans of hope and peace,' Fr Eugene's presence is a sign of God's providence. His accompaniment will help us shape a future that is faithful to our charism and responsive to the needs of those we serve - our own sisters, the poor, the forgotten and all whose lives touch ours in any way. In his homily, Fr Eugene emphasised the notion of accompaniment, walking with people as they discover for themselves the freedom that is theirs as beloved children of God. It is up to us to do what God asks of us in good times and not so good times. He emphasized that we are not in control but God is in control and his grace and mercy extends to all of us.
